Empathy Builders- Teaching Empathy to Kids Through Play
From the site:
“Empathy Builders” is a free simple game that helps students understand the concept of empathy. By using game-based learning, students can experience a real example of empathy, teachers can identify that moment, and then students can extend their learning through application to other authentic situations. The game can spark conversations about empathy to build a common ground of understanding among peers."
I first discovered this game at the Colorado Social Studies Conference held in Denver in April 2018 by the creator. A bunch of educators played the game and realized how many ways it can be altered to fit into what we are teaching. It is free unless you want the actual cards, then it is still affordable!
